Literature Text

We're all feeling hollow, and empty inside,
Picturing her face in our minds.
Warm heart's suddenly feeling cold,
Our touch frozen like ice.

The only time, we see her smile,
Is at night when we're asleep.
She comes to us, we hear her voice,
Each night in our dreams....

She fought a war and held on tight,
To all the strength she had.
She didn't have the choice, to leave or stay,
Her fate lay in God's hands.

She accepted her destiny was to live life after death,
Another time in another place.
Leaving behind, those she loved,
Those who keep her memory safe.

Her love to embrace and touch the lives,
of all to feel her grace.
For she is here, in our heart's,
To inspire us day after day.

We shelter our pain, in hopes to regain
The love once felt that seem's lost,
I know in my heart, somehow, some way
She'll find her way back to us.

When the day comes, our hearts weak from crying,
Will beat once again..
When we see that smile, upon her face
We'll know then, that we're in heaven.

We'll spend all of time, smiling inside,
And recover happy moments once shared.
We were blessed with a gift, God lent to us,
A beautiful angel named Lauren.
A poem written about my beautiful cousin Lauren, who died April 13th, 2007, after her second battle with cancer. She was 18.

Thanks for reading.
